Release Note 10

The Hinterland Notification API (HNA) allows transport operators to announce containers upfront and receive real-time updates on their status.

When import containers are announced via the HNA—especially prior to discharge from vessel—this data is seamlessly integrated into our Stacked Connect application. Stacked Connect generates provisional COPINO messages, ensuring containers are assigned a next mode of transport in our Terminal Operating System (TOS) and linked to the appropriate operator.

This functionality enables our vessel planners to accurately determine the optimal stacking locations for import containers based on their intended transport mode:

  • Barge: Stacked near the waterside
  • Train: Positioned close to the rail tracks
  • Truck: Placed next to the truck parking area

By leveraging this process, we enhance terminal efficiency and streamline logistics operations.
